Who’s Training Your Kids… and Who Should Be?

It’s a question every parent should be asking — and one I rarely bring up personally.
But today, I’m going to.
When you drop your child off for training — whether it’s a summer camp, a speed program, or a strength session — do you really know who’s coaching them?
Do they have a background in education? Do they understand developmental science? Are they trained in youth movement progressions and injury prevention? Or are they just in great shape and good at going viral?
Because here’s the truth…
Looking the part is not the same as being the part.
At Power & Pride Strength & Speed Camp, every movement we teach, every cue we give, every drill we implement — it’s all rooted in science-backed, age-appropriate training principles.
And while I don’t talk much about myself, here’s why that matters:
✅ I’m completing my third master’s degree
✅ I’ve been a licensed educator and strength coach for 15+ years
✅ My coaching partner, Coach Convey, holds a Master’s in Exercise Science and brings over 20 years of experience in speed development and long-term athlete growth
Together, we don’t just show kids how to train. We teach them why movement matters, how to build it from the ground up, and how to avoid the bad habits that set so many young athletes back.
We stay up late reviewing peer-reviewed research, not trending workouts. We coach with the future in mind, not just the next Instagram post.
So I’ll ask it again…
When you drop your child off — who’s training them? And more importantly: Who should be?
If it were my kid, I’d want the coach who:
Understands youth physical development
Knows how to build strength without breaking down movement
Has the education, experience, and care to do it right
That’s what Power & Pride is built on.That’s who we are.And that’s what your child deserves.
