Why Power & Pride Is About More Than Just Training

When we started the Power & Pride Strength & Speed Camp, the goal was simple: give middle school athletes a safe, age-appropriate place to build real athletic foundations. We wanted to teach them the right way to move, run, and train — not with gimmicks or trends, but with proven methods used by top coaches.
But the camp also serves another purpose. It helps us take care of something that doesn’t get much attention...our weight room.
Unlike many other sports programs, the weight room doesn’t receive a dedicated yearly budget. There’s no booster club assigned to it. No outside fundraising team. And yet — it supports every single athlete in the building.
From football and wrestling to track, baseball, and all the other organized sports, they all benefit from strength training. And that means the upkeep and upgrades matter.
That’s why a significant portion of the proceeds from Power & Pride go directly back into the weight room. Whether it’s new equipment, safer flooring, or simply keeping the place functional for large groups of athletes, the camp quietly helps us keep things moving forward.
And we wouldn’t be able to do any of it without the support of this community, especially the Touchdown Club, who’ve always understood the long-term importance of investing in strength, structure, and safety.
Thank you for everything you do.
